This Privacy Policy explains how srizen.me (“srizen.me,” “we,” “us,” or “the website”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you visit the website or interact with its Instagram feed.

1. About srizen.me

srizen.me is a personal journal created by Srisaravana featuring poems, short stories, reflections, photography, and other creative work.

The website uses the Instagram API provided by Meta to display selected Instagram posts from the account associated with srizen.me.

2. Instagram information we access

When an Instagram account is connected to the srizen.me Instagram feed, the website may access the following information through Meta’s Instagram API:

Instagram media identifiers
Photographs and other media
Media captions
Links to the original Instagram posts

At present, the integration is used only for an Instagram account controlled by Srisaravana. Visitors cannot connect their own Instagram accounts through srizen.me.

We do not request or access:

Instagram passwords
Direct messages
Contact lists
Email addresses
Follower lists
Private or unpublished Instagram content

3. How Instagram information is used

Instagram information is used only to:

Display recent Instagram posts on srizen.me
Link displayed media to its original Instagram post
Maintain and troubleshoot the Instagram feed
Protect the security and reliability of the integration
Comply with applicable legal and platform requirements

Instagram information is not used for advertising, behavioural profiling, credit decisions, or automated decision-making.

We do not sell, rent, or trade Instagram information.

4. Information processed when you visit the website

Visitors do not need to sign in with Instagram or provide Instagram account information to view srizen.me.

The website and its hosting providers may automatically process limited technical information necessary to deliver and protect the website, such as:

Internet Protocol address
Browser and device type
Requested pages
Date and time of a request
Basic diagnostic and security information

This information may be processed in temporary server, security, or delivery logs.

The Instagram feed itself is not used to place advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies.

5. How information is shared

We do not sell personal information.

Information may be processed by service providers that help operate the website, including:

Meta and Instagram, which provide the Instagram API and host the original Instagram content
Website hosting and content-delivery providers
WordPress.com, which hosts or provides editorial content used by the website
Technical service providers used for security and maintenance

These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

Meta’s own collection and use of information is governed by the Meta Privacy Policy.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with the law, respond to a valid legal request, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect the security and rights of the website and others.

6. Data storage and retention

Instagram content is retrieved to display the website’s feed. srizen.me does not intentionally maintain a separate permanent database of Instagram feed content.

Copies may be temporarily retained by servers, content-delivery networks, or visitors’ browsers for performance and reliability. These temporary copies expire or are removed according to the relevant service’s caching process.

The Instagram access credential is retained only while it is needed to operate the feed. It is not intentionally disclosed to website visitors.

Technical logs may be retained for a limited period for security, troubleshooting, and legal compliance.

7. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect the information processed through the website.

Access credentials are intended to be stored in protected server-side configuration and are not intentionally included in public website content.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and therefore absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

8. Your choices and data deletion

You may revoke an application’s access through your Meta or Instagram account settings. Meta also provides controls for removing connected applications. Meta’s Help Center notes that removing an app ends its access, although users may separately contact the developer to request deletion of previously stored information.

Please include the Instagram username connected to the application. Do not send your password, access token, or other sensitive login information.

After verifying the request, we will:

Revoke or remove the relevant application connection where applicable
Delete Instagram information retained by srizen.me
Remove cached copies under our control where reasonably possible
Confirm when the request has been completed

Requests will normally be completed within 30 days. Limited information may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or documenting the completion of the request.

Meta also allows users to manage or remove connected third-party applications through their account settings.

9. Children’s privacy

srizen.me is not designed to collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the website, contact us so that it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

10. International processing

Website and service providers may process information in countries other than the country where a visitor lives. Where applicable, reasonable measures are used to protect information during such processing.

11. Third-party websites

The website contains links to Instagram and other third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and srizen.me is not responsible for how those third parties process information.

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the website, Instagram integration, service providers, or legal requirements change.

The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised whenever material changes are made.
